[Feringel, Vierengl; Johann]
* about 1710, place unknown
† 26.3.1756, Bratislava
The place where he trained as an organ builder is not known. He worked in Bratislava, where he lived by the Danube riverbank beside the city brewery. He did not become a burgher of Bratislava (contemporary entries in the register of the dead, and also his contract to repair the organ in St. Martin's Cathedral, refer to him as "ein Orgelmacher").
In 1751 he reconstructed and extended the organ in St. Martin's Cathedral in Bratislava. This two-manual organ, described in the canonic visitations as exceptionally large, disappeared during the cathedral's re-gothicisation. All that has survived is the proposal for reconstruction, drafted in 1750, which in many points indicates South German or Italian influences.
